Kim Kardashian West is joining a long list of celebrities that tout a plant-based diet as the best way to eat.

Although several sites have claimed that Kim has gone vegan, fans have pointed out that a recent photoshoot showing her drizzled in honey to promote her Matte Honey collection is not vegan, as honey is made from bees.

She also touted MorningStar Farms bacon as a good plant-based substitute, but it should be noted that the product is vegetarian, not vegan, as it does contain eggs.

Regardless, Kim got fans’ attention with a series of Instagram snaps showing off her toned abs with the caption, “Plant based does a body good.”

So what does Kim’s new plant-based diet look like?

What’s For Breakfast?

In 2019, the Kardashian-West children surprised their mom by making her breakfast for her 39th birthday. The Instagram-worthy food-fest featured sausage, a boiled egg, chopped strawberries, and pancakes that spelled out “MOM.”

Nowadays, Kim starts her morning by swapping out the sausage for an egg scramble, made from vegan mung beans. She also loves to indulge in fruit, avocado on toast, and green juices.

She occasionally still has pancakes: she recommends that fans looking to indulge in her infamous Blueberry Oatmeal Pancake recipe make the recipe the night before and let it sit overnight in the fridge to give the mix time to settle, resulting in a fluffier pancake and a stress-free morning!

Kim previous shared that she likes to add a lean protein like chicken or fish to her lunchtime vegetable medley, but it seems she has switched out the lean protein for healthy carbs, like those found in salads, sweet potato hash topped with avocado, or vegan tacos.

She revealed that “My trainer Mel always says that before and after you train, you should eat simple carbs, like sweet potatoes, and small amounts of fat and protein, like chicken. You should also have veggies with your meals, since you need them to help effectively break down and absorb your protein, fat, and carbs.”

Under the advice of her trainer, Melissa Alcantara, Kim keeps her lunch and dinner looking pretty similar, with plenty of healthy vegetables and fresh, unprocessed foods.

Some of her favorite staples include butternut squash with soup and salad, or guacamole with vegetable chips.

She also loves her recipe for Gluten-Free Cauliflower Mac and Cheese, which she can still enjoy with a plant-based cheese substitute!

The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star has given up many of her indulgences since going vegan. Her trainer once revealed that she removed graham crackers, rice krispy treats, and vanilla wafers from her pantry in order to keep Kim’s diet on track!

Although it may sound harsh, her trainer shared a video of Kim’s progress on Instagram and noted that Kim is really committed to her fitness, writing, “Kim trains hard and has great work ethic and it’s a pleasure to train her. Let’s keep making these muscles girl.”
